The Ingredients Behind EVYLO

Every ingredient in EVYLO has a purpose—whether it supports your health directly or helps deliver a clean, high-quality supplement.
Here’s what they are—and why they matter:

Key Ingredients

Berberine

Berberine is a bioactive plant compound extracted from traditional herbs like Berberis aristata (Indian barberry).

It has been traditionally used as a natural remedy across various cultures, with 3,000+ years of real-life experience.

Modern research shows that berberine may help support healthy metabolic function—including blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, triglyceride levels, normal insulin activity, and fat metabolism—in part by activating a key cellular enzyme known as AMPK (“the body’s metabolic master switch”).

There are various forms of berberine available, including those that claim improved bioavailability.

Based on our research, the right daily amount for newer forms of berberine hasn’t been well established—so we don’t think it’s worth asking our consumers to take that risk.

For that reason, we have chosen to use the traditional form, which has been most widely studied for its role in supporting heart and metabolic health.

BPF® (Bergamot Polyphenolic Fraction)

BPF® (bergamot polyphenolic fraction) is a natural citrus extract made from Citrus bergamia, a fruit traditionally grown along the coast of Calabria in southern Italy.

Many people recognize its fragrant oil as the flavor in Earl Grey tea, but the fruit itself is not usually eaten fresh.

Instead, extracts from its juice and peel are used in foods, beverages, and supplements for their potential wellness benefits.

It contains unique flavonoids that help balance cholesterol levels by supporting healthy LDL (“bad cholesterol”), HDL (“good cholesterol”), and triglycerides.

There are many kinds of bergamot extract, but our review of human clinical studies found that BPF® (bergamot polyphenolic fraction) has the strongest evidence for supporting metabolic health in adults.

That is why we chose BPF®—so you can feel confident you’re getting a well-studied form of bergamot.

CoQ10

CoQ10 is a naturally occurring antioxidant found in every cell of our body, where it plays a vital role in cellular energy production and supports heart and mitochondrial function.

CoQ10 levels tend to decline with age, which may impact energy metabolism and heart health.

While CoQ10 is present in both plant- and animal-based foods, the amounts are typically low.

For example, it would take 7.3 pounds of boiled soybeans to match the amount of CoQ10 provided in a single EVYLO capsule.

As with berberine, CoQ10 is available in several forms, including those marketed for enhanced absorption.

We’ve chosen to use the conventional, well-researched form of CoQ10, which has the strongest clinical evidence supporting its role in heart and metabolic health.

Folic Acid

Folic acid is a form of vitamin B9 that plays a key role in heart health by helping to regulate homocysteine levels, an amino acid linked to heart function.

It also supports the formation of red blood cells and contributes to overall vascular health.

While vitamin B9 is naturally present in various plant- and animal-based foods in the form of folate, obtaining enough from food alone to support long-term heart health can sometimes be difficult.

For example, it would take about 11 cups of raw spinach (30 g per cup)—a rich source of folate—to equal the amount of folic acid found in a single EVYLO capsule.

As with berberine and CoQ10, multiple forms of folate are available.

We have chosen to use the traditional form of folic acid, which has the strongest track record of clinical research supporting its role in heart and metabolic health.

While newer forms of folate are available, no official conversion standards exist between these and the FDA’s Dietary Folate Equivalents (DFE) system.

This means that we risk giving consumers too high or too low daily servings by simply adopting newer forms of folate, which we absolutely want to avoid.

Given the limited population-wide data on how these newer forms behave in individuals—especially those with genetic differences in folate metabolism—we’ve selected the well-characterized and widely studied form of folic acid to optimize the balance between scientific evidence, safety, and health support.

*DFE is the FDA-recognized unit that accounts for differences in the absorption and bioavailability of natural food folate and synthetic folic acid.

Other Ingredients

Veggie Capsule (Hypromellose)

This is the plant-based shell that holds the supplement.

It’s made from natural materials (not gelatin), making it suitable for vegetarians and free from animal-derived ingredients.

Hypromellose is a permitted food additive listed in the FDA's Substances Added to Food inventory and is listed as generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA for its intended use in food and supplements.

*Note: GRAS is a designation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) indicating that a substance added to food is considered safe to eat. A substance can be GRAS based on a long history of common use in food or strong scientific evidence reviewed and agreed upon by qualified experts. When a substance is GRAS, it does not need special FDA approval before being used in food, because it’s already recognized as safe for that specific purpose.

Silicon Dioxide

A natural mineral found in many plant-based foods. In supplements, it’s used to prevent the powder from clumping together, helping ensure each capsule is filled evenly and consistently.

It is listed as GRAS under FDA regulations and used only in small, regulated amounts.

It does not provide nutritional value or affect your health—it simply helps ensure quality and consistency during production.

Organic Rice Extract Blend (Nu-MAG®)

A clean, plant-based ingredient blend of organic rice extract, organic rice hulls, organic gum arabic, and organic sunflower oil.

It helps the supplement powder flow smoothly into each capsule without sticking and helps maintain consistent capsule filling—all without synthetic additives.

Each of these ingredients has FDA GRAS status for use in food and does not have a direct effect on your health.

Rice Flour

A common, natural, gluten-free ingredient made from ground rice that has been used for centuries.

It has a long history of safe use in food and supplements.

Rice flour is used to fill any extra space in the capsule when the active ingredients do not completely fill it.

Our Consumer-First, Science-First Design

High signal-to-noise ratio

We cut through the noise and focus on what truly matters—delivering the highest value for our consumers.

Early research provides the foundation

Studies in cells or animals help scientists understand how nutrients work at a basic level.

These early findings are important, but on their own, thousands of preliminary studies mean little without strong human evidence.

We prioritize the highest level of evidence

Human clinical research—studies conducted in real people that measure meaningful outcomes—is the gold standard. That’s where we place our focus.

Rigor across every aspect of EVYLO

Every ingredient and suggested use in EVYLO is backed by multiple gold-standard human studies*, consistently supporting heart and metabolic health.

Why These Ingredients Work Better Together?

1. Each ingredient supports different parts of heart and metabolic health.

This means you’re not relying on just one pathway or benefit.

2. Each ingredient has a different level of scientific research behind it.

Some are especially well-studied for specific outcomes like cholesterol, blood pressure, or blood sugar metabolism.

3. Together, they provide broader support than any single ingredient alone.

Their benefits stack, giving you more complete, well-rounded coverage.

Why We Created EVYLO™

Pharmacist- and PhD researcher-led formulation team.

Image shown is for illustrative purposes

“I’m getting older. I want my heart and metabolism to stay strong and balanced as I age. With my background as both a pharmacist and a doctoral healthcare researcher, I understand how profoundly these systems influence long-term health and well-being. Everyone talks about longevity—living not just longer, but better.”

The truth?

It isn’t hidden in a miracle pill—it’s been in plain sight all along, waiting for those willing to understand and apply it.

Decades of rigorous scientific research—including guidance from the American Heart Association—have identified eight essential lifestyle and health factors, known as Life’s Essential 8, that promote optimal heart and metabolic wellness.

Science confirms these eight powerful habits can help support heart health and thus unlock lasting vitality.

They include maintaining healthy levels of cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure.

That awareness motivated me to make meaningful lifestyle changes—and to take a closer look at vitamins and supplements.

But with so many available options—and so much marketing noise—I just felt overwhelmed!

Over the past few years, I’ve spent hundreds of hours conducting a holistic review of scientific evidence to separate the noise from the true signals that matter for heart and metabolic wellness.

Here’s what truly matters in choosing a supplement—and what’s too often missing in the real world.

Formulator transparency.

I want to know who actually formulates a supplement and their qualifications.

That gives me more confidence that the person behind it truly understands what they’re doing.

This is sometimes disclosed, but often not at all.

Scientific evidence.

Consumers rarely see clear, understandable evidence behind products.

Some supplements rely only on early lab or animal research, while others are backed by multiple, well-designed human studies.

We simply can’t know the right dosing for people if the research never reaches humans—and what value am I really gaining if the dose is off?

I might as well just focus on other free lifestyle changes instead.

The difference matters—and when companies either hide their data or overwhelm us with too much, it’s nearly impossible to tell which information is truly meaningful.

The range is huge—and it’s far too time-consuming for an average consumer to sort through.

Some brands say, “I’ve already done the work for you,” and maybe they have—but if nothing’s shared publicly, how would I ever know?

Formulation based on a comprehensive scientific evidence review is incredibly important.

As the body of research grows, we start to see both positive and negative findings—and what truly matters is whether the overall evidence remains consistently positive, how strong the health support appears to be, and whether the results are statistically meaningful.

Unfortunately, many companies cherry-pick studies and don’t give a clear picture of the most important science—something I see far too often.

Evidence-based dosing.

Recommended dosages should align with published scientific data or healthcare guidance.

I see so many different daily dosage recommendations—even for the same health purpose—that it leaves me more puzzled than ever.

If dose doesn’t matter, why am I using supplements? Honestly, it makes me laugh.

Manufacturing quality.

Meeting current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) standards is one of the most important quality indicators for supplements.

Most of us assume we can rely on the FDA to make sure that’s happening.

But the reality is, the FDA’s resources are limited—it inspects only about 5% of supplement manufacturing facilities in the U.S. each year.

That means it could take roughly 20 years to revisit the same facility for another inspection. Shocking, right?

That’s why the next best option is to look for proof that the facilities making a supplement are cGMP-certified by reputable, independent organizations.

Too often, though, I see vague icons like “GMP,” “cGMP,” or “FDA registered,” and I can’t help but wonder—what are you really trying to tell me?

Third-party testing.

Similarly, the FDA advises manufacturers to follow current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) standards—guidelines meant to help ensure that final products contain what’s on the label and are free from unwanted substances or contaminants.

Because FDA surveillance is limited, as noted earlier, the next best safeguard is third-party verification from reputable, independent organizations.

What concerns me is how few supplements actually carry credible third-party quality certifications—only about 4–12% overall.

Outside of core categories like vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, the percentage drops even further: certified products make up roughly one-third as many (<8% vs. 24%).

This matters deeply to me, since heart and metabolic health supplements—the area I care most about—typically fall into that under-certified group.

Some brands do perform their own third-party testing without pursuing official certification, but these tests are often unstandardized and the results rarely shared publicly.

Research has also found that 14–50% of supplements may contain ingredients or contaminants banned by sports authorities such as the World Anti-Doping Agency.

There’s no proof that uncertified or untested supplements are harmful, but I think they carry an unnecessary long-term risk—one I’d rather avoid.

Comprehensive heart and metabolic support.

I’ve been searching for supplements that provide well-rounded support across key areas of heart and metabolic wellness—things like cholesterol balance (LDL and HDL), triglycerides, blood sugar, blood pressure, and overall circulation.

Yet most of the products I’ve come across only target one or two of these areas, leaving the rest unaddressed.

After all that research, I came to a simple realization: the best path forward was to create what I couldn’t find—a supplement built from the ground up to meet the highest scientific, quality, and manufacturing standards, focusing solely on what truly supports heart and metabolic wellness.

Following more than 1,000 hours of research and development across 18 months, EVYLO came to life—a product built on uncompromising quality and unwavering authenticity.

It’s given me the confidence I was looking for.

Spending just 30 seconds a day taking it, I’ve noticed meaningful changes—I feel better and see positive trends across the health data I track for myself.

My sincere hope is that others seeking comprehensive support for their heart and metabolic health can experience the same trust and peace of mind.

Because when our health feels steady, life opens up—exploring new places, building our careers, being present with the people we love, and savoring the small moments that make life meaningful.

Your Questions, Answered

How Do I Know If EVYLO Is Right for Me

EVYLO is formulated to support short-term and long-term heart and metabolic health.

It helps maintain healthy levels of key markers, including blood lipids (such as LDL, HDL, and triglycerides), blood sugar, and blood pressure.

If you’re looking for a high-quality, evidence-based natural product to support one or more of these areas, EVYLO could be a good fit.

It’s developed using rigorous research, manufacturing, and quality testing standards.

That said, individual results may vary depending on your health history, lifestyle, and any medications you’re taking.

We recommend reviewing the rest of our Q&A and checking with your healthcare provider to make sure EVYLO is a good match for your health goals.

How Long Does It Take to See Results?

If used as directed on the label, some people may feel more energized within days or weeks.

More noticeable results may appear within four weeks of daily use.

For best results, we recommend taking EVYLO daily, along with balanced nutrition and regular physical activity.

Individual results may vary.

Should I Take EVYLO With Food?

For best results, take EVYLO with or just before meals.

As a general precaution based on ingredient interactions, we recommend avoiding grapefruit, grapefruit juice, or alcohol around the time of use.

Is EVYLO Appropriate for People Who Are With Some Health Conditions?

Most people may be good candidates for EVYLO.

However, we strongly recommend against using EVYLO if you are pregnant, nursing, or have low blood pressure (below 90/60 mm Hg) or low blood sugar (below 70 mg/dL or 3.9 mmol/L).

We also recommend speaking with your healthcare provider if you:

  • Have liver disease
  • Have a heart rhythm disorder
  • Are scheduled for surgery
  • Have a vitamin B12 deficiency

How Should I Take EVYLO for Best Results?

EVYLO is designed to be easy and flexible to take:

  • Start by taking 4 capsules daily, preferably with or just before a meal
  • If you feel a greater need to support your heart and metabolic health or if suggested by your healthcare providers, you may increase the dose up to 5 capsules daily.
  • You may cut back to 4 capsules as needed.
  • You can take the capsules all at once, or split into 2-3 times a day.

For best results, we recommend splitting it into 2–3 times per day.

This is because some ingredients, such as bergamot and berberine, are processed quickly by our body.

If you miss a dose, simply take the next one as scheduled.

Consistency matters - regular use gives EVYLO the best chance to support your heart and metabolic health.

Taking EVYLO is just one part of your wellness journey.

We encourage you to keep supporting your health with the right FUEL — that's Food, Use of supplements, Exercise, and Lifestyle changes - to help your body get the most out of EVYLO.

Daily Total (Number of Capsules) Divided Into 2 serving (Number of Capsules) Divided Into 3 servings (Number of Capsules)
Meal 1 Meal 2 Meal 1 Meal 2 Meal 3
4 2 2 2 1 1
5 3 2 2 1 2

Why does the label list the serving size as 3 capsules instead of showing the full daily amount of 4–5 capsules?

This is because of FDA labeling requirements.

The FDA requires supplement companies to list the serving size as the maximum amount recommended per occasion of use.

While the recommended daily amount is 4-6 capsules, if you choose to follow our split-dose method (see question "How should I take EVYLO for best results?"), you’ll take no more than 3 capsules at a time, typically with each meal.

That’s why the Supplement Facts panel lists a serving size of 3 capsules.

By law, we cannot provide a range (like "1-3 capsules") inside the Supplement Facts panel.

For more details, you can see the FDA guidance here: https://www.fda.gov/food/dietary-supplements-guidance-documents-regulatory-information/dietary-supplement-labeling-guide-chapter-iv-nutrition-labeling

For your convenience, here’s a quick look at how much of each key ingredient EVYLO contains per capsule:
