Pain Points We’ve Faced as Consumers

Like many of you, we’ve been overwhelmed by:

• An overload of options on the market.

• Excessively biased or promotional information that presents only one side of the story.

Vague claims filled with jargon and little supporting science.

Having options is great — but too many choices can create decision fatigue, especially when every product seems to claim the same thing.

As consumers, we don't need everything — we just need the right supplements that help us feel better and support our health.

That’s why, in this blog, we will:

• Compile and analyze information from multiple perspectives.

• Ruthlessly filter out hype and fluff.

• Summarize what’s actually important for your health decisions.

The Conundrum of Clear Communication in the Supplement Industry

In defense of supplement companies, what may seem like “vague” or confusing claims sometimes stems from regulatory constraints.

By US law, we are not allowed to state or imply that supplements have any positive impact on health conditions (whereas, stating the possible harm is allowed).

Perhaps surprisingly to many, this also means we cannot directly quote scientific studies, even if the information is purely factual and and comes directly from the research.

Additionally, the FDA mandates that any allowable claims be accompanied by the following disclaimer: “These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.”

This reflects the core reality: supplements are not reviewed or approved by the FDA prior to being sold, unlike prescription drugs.

Because the level of scientific evidence can be more preliminary or observational in nature, supplement companies are prohibited from making definitive health claims based on cause and effect.

As a company, we at Truth Full Health share in the frustration of not being able to cite research directly – especially when we aim to educate responsibly.

That said, we fully understand the FDA’s role in protecting consumers and we are committed to 100% compliance with all labeling and marketing regulations.

We’ll dive deeper into the regulatory landscape and what it means for consumers in upcoming blog posts.

Our Blogging Principles

Start broad, stay fair: We gather data across perspectives — no cherry-picking.

Distinguish fact from fiction: We focus on accuracy. If something is unclear or uncertain, we’ll say so.

Balance clarity with depth: We aim to be as thorough as necessary without getting lost in the weeds — and we’ll always be transparent about what we do or don’t know.

Problem-solving, not finger-pointing: When we critique issues, it’s with the goal of finding solutions, not assigning blame.
